Support Happy Hounds -> Rescue a Greyhound From Unimagineable HorrorsCruel, ruthless torture. Broken hearts and crying hounds. Murder. Death. Every day so many adoring Greyhounds are killed in unthinkable ways simply because they couldn't cross the finish line as #1. They crash to the ground and are beaten. Shot. Drowned. Beheaded. Skinned alive. I can barely type this. It's so painful. I'm a sighthound lover. I own a purebred Whippet because my mother didn't want a big dog. There were no Whippets available for adoption and I wanted so much to rescue a Greyhound. I may not be able to just yet- give or take a year, I'll be adopting Greyhounds like mad. I'll save as many as I can and I'll be supported by my loving boyfriend. But what of you all? Can't you help give these gentle dogs a good home? Take them for a walk in the morning and for the rest of the day, they're couch potatoes. The fastest dogs are the laziest dogs. Greyhounds only ever wanted to love and be loved. And even when they're not loved, they still, somehow, give love. Until they die. Don't let them die. Know that these dogs are out there. Know that you can help them. Know that you can save them. Maybe you can't go to South Korea one day, but I know that you CAN help a hound. Research and save a life. Do it for the Greyhounds. They need YOU. They need LOVE. They need LIFE. Because all they have Is death.

thats sad.
i think that if you have a breed that you like, esp one that are unloved or have a bad rep, you should do what you can to help. i understand that kids cant adopt dogs and stuff but there is more that you can do. simple things. volunteer at a local shelter, encourage your parents (if you not old enough) to adopt a dog at the shelter or rescue, not a breeder. donate. get involved. just the simple acts can make a difference. volunteering is great, just knowing that you are making a difference, or at least making the dogs stay at a shelter less stressful. people who abuse their petz do not deserve to live in my eye. all dog just want to love, and be loved back. dogs are loving creatures and in my eyes, gods gift to us. i have seen some VERY graphic cruelty, on sites and sadly in real life. also some things you should never do is: NEVER EVER EVER adopt a dog from a pet store. they are from puppy mills and even know its sad seeing those sick puppies, dont doing is putting another pup in its place, and supporting the mills

Exactly. I'm trying to find a nearby Greyhound rescue offering jobs for volunteers. I'll do whatever I can, but I need to find one to do that! x.X

That's awful! I don't know of any greyhound rescues near me, since I live on an island... there probably isn't one. I cannot believe that that's happening... who would do that? If I could have another dog, I would adopt a greyhound but unfortunately that's never going to happen, unless one of my babies passes on . That picture at the end if horrible!

The last picture is terrible I don't know how you could just kill a young animal for no reason then just throw it away and eat it and not care about it!I never go to Greyhound races because they do that. How would they feel if someone threw them away and ate them?

It was in the news recently about a man killing of ex-racers for cheap. I find it horrifying and when I am older I would like to give one a home, I feel so sorry for them.

OMG! The pictures made me sick to my stomach. The poor greyhouds, I wish I could save one. I hate hearing that they bury them alive and hang them! OMG! I would so punish those people when I get older. *growls*. Stupid people, how dare they, and to such a beautiful animal. I feel like crying. When I get older I might get two or three and keep them as my babies ^.^ Of course I live in Louisiana and they don't have Greyhound shelters here, at least none around where I live.

Import them from elsewhere if you'd like to adopt them. I'm trying to get a friend to break into the black market. I am doing all I can for animals :3
