Petz FAQ: Glitches

What is meant by glitches?
Errors in the petz game that prevent you from playing the game in a normal way,or things you have to work around.
Glitches:
Help! The food bowl won't stop bouncing!
Nope,and it won't,and neither will the mugs of soup,plate of leftovers,or bowl of water. That is,unless you feed your petz on the desktop ; )
I put *insert clothing item here,particularly socks* on my pet,and now they won't come off!
Keep clicking on the item. If it still won't come off,put away the pet,and turn off the game. Go to your resource folder,and then to clothes(explaination on how to find your rescource folder is explain in Petz FAQ: Breedfiles,under the question about getting breedfiles in the game). Move the item that's stuck on the pet to the desktop or other,non-petz,convenient location. Restart the game. Take out the pet with the clothes item stuck on it. And voila! It's gone. Put the pet away and close the game again. Stick the clothes item back in the clothes folder. If you restart petz and take out the pet again,it shouldn't have the item on it anymore.

I have also come across three toy glitches.

The Surprise Toy (the white box with red ribbon that has a bubble machine inside) can be a problem if you put the box away without its lid. You are stuck with the lid and "cleanup playscene" won't solve the problem. If you put the Paint Can away without its paintbrush you get a similar problem. In order to solve it you must close the game, remove the .toy file, launch the game, close it, and put the file back in, just like with "stuck" clothes on a pet.

Also, the Yellow Cat Dancer will sometimes have a unique glitch where the pom-pom becomes separated from its base and can be treated as an independant object. It cannot be put away or cleaned up using "cleanup playscene" and you must use the above method to "fix" it as well. However I find this particular glitch to be neat and have been trying to reproduce it-- my petz love to play with the little pom-pom!
