Here is a visual,using my own SGCh. cat, Sand, of what a decent catz pose looks like: *Judges disagree on this.Some feel that the back legs don't matter,others do. Also note that tails that are hexed in a fixed position (like drop tails) cannot move at all or curl anywhere, so they are fine at whatever position they were hexed at. If you cat was hexed holding it's tail in an especially unusual way that could affect judging, leave a note under your cat's pose for the judge Some sites that offer good visuals of catz poses can be found here.

Sometimes the tail can't curve so it's fine straight up.
